Colour Outside The Lines

My work as of late is inspired by my tiny human. His boundless energy, kindness, curiosity and creativity, and his ability to melt my heart with his hugs and cuddles. 

This was a very special piece. I call it my collaboration with my little man. Inspired and painted by him. In the underpainting stage, I gave my 2.5-year-old a variety of materials and let him play.

The idea behind this painting was to capture the joy and creativity of childhood, a little girl painting the wall behind her, as if she were creating the piece herself. I love playing with colour and texture, using different media such as spray paint, water-soluble pastels, flexible modelling paste and paint to create a dynamic and layered composition.
